The second chapter of DC's twelve-issue 1996 anthology series delivers a charged lineup — Steel, Guy Gardner: Warrior, Circe, and Metallo all sharing one book. Howard Porter and Chip Wallace's cover puts Guy Gardner front and center, muscles tensed as he hoists a massive piece of machinery overhead, while the chrome-plated Metallo lunges menacingly below him, surrounded by what appear to be monstrous, fanged figures pressing in from the edges. It's a kinetic, crowd-pleasing composition that captures the mid-'90s DC universe at full throttle, and with Beau Smith writing the interior, fans of Gardner's particular brand of bravado are in good hands.
