“The Invasion”

In "The Invasion," the Shield and Dusty step into the spotlight—not as crimefighters, but as actors in a wartime propaganda play. As they portray heroes uncovering a Nazi munitions train beneath a small town, their performance takes a dangerous turn when an American sympathizer betrays them to the enemy. Written and illustrated by Bill Vigoda, with a striking cover by Harry Sahle, this 1944 issue blends wartime messaging with a tense, undercover mission—perfect for fans of Golden Age heroism and period storytelling.
