Sherlock Frankenstein and the Legion of Evil #2

Set in the strange and sinister world of Black Hammer, this second chapter from writer Jeff Lemire promises dark delights with a title — "The Call of Cthu-Lou!" — that says it all. David Rubín's cover depicts a hulking, tentacle-faced creature slumped in a chair amid a tangle of sickly green pipes and tubing, a bottle and glass nearby, while a grinning skull-faced figure looms ominously in the background. It's a wonderfully unsettling tableau that makes this Black Hammer spinoff one of 2017's more inventive corners of the Dark Horse universe.
