Shaun of the Dead #2

IDW's 2005 comic adaptation of the beloved zombie-comedy film rolls on with issue #2, and Jason Brashill's gritty cover art sets an appropriately tense tone — two bloodied men stare down the viewer, one clutching a cricket bat and wearing a casual tee, the other in a disheveled shirt and tie, both looking grimly determined against a murky green backdrop. It's a fittingly down-to-earth, human-scaled take on the undead apocalypse that made the film so endearing. With Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright among the writers alongside Chris Ryall, and Zach Howard on interior art, this adaptation carries some serious creative pedigree.
