Geof Darrow and Dave Stewart return to their gonzo martial-arts creation with this 2017 Dark Horse series opener, and the cover announces it with characteristic, jaw-dropping density. The Shaolin Cowboy's battered, battle-hardened face dominates the image — one bloodied fist raised — while dozens of gun-toting, sword-wielding, and generally airborne enemies (plus what appears to be at least one very unfortunate bird) swirl around him in Darrow's gloriously obsessive linework. If you've ever wanted a comic that rewards ten minutes of careful cover-gazing before you've even cracked the spine, this is a very good place to start.
