The cover by Joe Kubert captures a tense jungle patrol with sharp dramatic irony — Easy Company soldiers joke that it's "peaceful as a summer picnic" while, lurking in the foreground, a helmeted enemy soldier grips a knife mere feet away, completely unseen. The tagline teasing what Rock means when he says "War's Murder!" sets up the interior story "It's Murder Out Here!" with quiet dread rather than bombast. Written by Robert Kanigher with art by Frank Redondo, this 1978 DC issue is a fine example of the series at its most atmospherically suspenseful.
