Sgt. Fury #118

Sgt. Fury squares off against an enormous Nazi tank in this 1974 Marvel war comic, the massive armored machine dominating the cover while Fury charges forward with his weapon and enemy soldiers scramble through smoke and explosions in the background. Cover art by Dick Ayers and John Romita puts the threat front and center — the taunting dialogue balloons ("There's nothing you can do to save them!!") add real tension to the scene. "The War Machine!" promises the kind of gritty, high-stakes WWII action that made the Howling Commandos a staple of Marvel's war comics lineup.
