Hon berättar att hennes man inte vill berätta för att han är rädd. Han har blivit misshandlad av en bookmaker som kallas Whitey. Rocky vill bjuda ut Cricket på skoldansen. Hon vill väldigt gärna gå och säger att om Rocky inte gör det går hon ut med en annan. Rocky vet inte hur han ska kunna få ihop pengarna för att bjuda ut henne han behöver 100 dollar. I barkassan får han växla en hundralapp åt barägaren Carter.
