Sergio Aragonés Groo the Wanderer #98

Part three of "The Wager of the Gods" arrives in this 1993 Epic Comics entry, with Sergio Aragonés both writing and drawing every line. The cover says it all: a towering, golden-adorned deity looms large, his massive hand reaching down to pluck a snarling, dual-sword-wielding Groo right off a billowing pink surface — while Groo's faithful dog Rufferto watches the whole undignified scene from below. It's a perfectly absurd snapshot of the wandering fool caught between divine forces, rendered with Aragonés's effortlessly expressive linework.
