Sergio Aragonés Groo the Wanderer #56

A jester in a multi-belled cap dominates this October 1989 Epic Comics entry, strumming a lute with gleeful abandon while a tiny, chaotic Groo — swords raised — perches atop the instrument's headstock. The cover by Sergio Aragonés (who also writes and draws the interiors alongside writer Mark Evanier) perfectly sets the stage for "A Minstrel's Tale," promising the kind of madcap, musically-tinged mayhem the series does so well. If you've got a soft spot for Aragonés's wonderfully expressive linework and Groo's reliably disastrous adventures, this one looks like a treat.
