Sergio Aragonés Groo the Wanderer #2

The sword-swinging barbarian Groo comes face-to-face with a massive, dripping green swamp creature on Sergio Aragonés's cover for this April 1985 Epic Comics release — and judging by Groo's wide-eyed grimace, even he may be having second thoughts. The story title "Dragon Killer" promises exactly the kind of absurd, action-packed adventure that makes this series such a delight, with Aragonés's wonderfully expressive linework bringing every slimy tendril and nervous scowl to life. A fine early entry in Marvel's Epic Comics line, with lettering by Stan Sakai and colors by Tom Luth rounding out the creative team.
