Sergio Aragonés Groo the Wanderer #14

Sergio Aragonés' cover for issue #14 says it all: Groo stands bound in thick ropes before a massive stone wall teeming with dozens of workers hauling timbers, heaving blocks, and scrambling across scaffolding — a one-man disaster waiting to happen in the middle of what appears to be a grand construction project. The sheer density of background chaos surrounding our hapless wanderer is a testament to Aragonés' endlessly inventive draftsmanship, with something new to discover in every corner. With Aragonés and Mark Evanier steering the story and Tom Luth and Stan Sakai rounding out the creative team, "The Quarry" looks like another delightful entry in this 1986 Epic Comics run.
