Sergio Aragonés's beloved barbarian blunderer takes to the skies — or rather, is taken by them — on this delightfully chaotic 1994 cover, which finds Groo dangling helplessly amid a swarm of birds, dual swords in hand and a grimace stretched across his face, while his faithful dog Rufferto hangs suspended nearby looking equally bewildered. The puppetlike strings, the flock of white birds filling the background, and Aragonés's endlessly expressive linework all promise that Part Two of "The Birds of Vultura!" will be every bit as gloriously calamitous as you'd hope.
