Groo the Wanderer takes flight — quite literally — in issue #114, as the cover by Sergio Aragonés captures the bumbling barbarian and a panicked assortment of characters clinging to a pair of enormous black vultures soaring through a purple sky. The chaos and wide-eyed expressions perfectly set the stage for "The Birds of Vultura! Part One of Two," promising the kind of madcap misadventure that makes this long-running series such a delight. A fine 1994 entry from Aragonés, with colors by Tom Luth lending the frantic scene a vivid warmth.
