Sergio Aragonés Groo #4

Sergio Aragonés tells it all on this cover — the wandering fool-warrior Groo is face-down in a tiny desert watering hole, surrounded by the skeletal remains of creatures who apparently weren't so lucky, while his faithful dog Rufferto looks on with wide-eyed alarm. With a story titled "A Drink of Water," this 1995 Image issue promises that even the simplest quest becomes a catastrophe in Groo's capable hands, and Aragonés's wonderfully detailed linework — every bone and skull rendered with gleeful care — makes the scene both hilarious and oddly epic.
