Sergio Aragonés Groo #10

Sergio Aragonés sends his lovably hapless swordsman Groo to the bottom of the sea in this 1995 Image installment, and the cover says it all — Groo and his faithful dog Rufferto are tumbling underwater amid the wreckage of what appears to be a freshly sunk ship, surrounded by a cheerful school of wide-eyed orange fish. Aragonés's endlessly expressive linework fills every corner with delightful chaos, from tiny flailing figures in the murky background to the bubbly, sun-dappled water above. "The Sinkers" promises exactly the kind of nautical calamity that only Groo could cause.
