Marvel's 2015–2016 event series brought together virtually every corner of the Marvel multiverse when the Incursions finally destroyed all of reality, leaving only Battleworld — a patchwork planet ruled by an all-powerful Doctor Doom — standing in place of everything that once existed. Writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Esad Ribić delivered the culmination of years of buildup across Hickman's Avengers and New Avengers runs, as heroes from across collapsed realities — including multiple versions of Thor, Spider-Man, and the Marvel Universe's core cast — fought to reclaim existence itself. The series served as a line-wide reset point for Marvel, reshaping its publishing landscape in its aftermath.
