In "The Arrowhead," Lady Katherine del Bishop—secretly the vigilante Cabeza de Flecha—rides with her friends Billy and Teddy through a war-torn landscape, listening to tales of heroism and betrayal. When they learn of a mystical sphere that could expose her identity to the Punisher, Kate and her companions race to the Cathedral of the God Doom to steal it first. But as they reach their goal, they realize too late the sphere is a trap, forcing Kate to make a desperate move—leaping through a broken window to fight enemy forces before being captured and sent to The Shield.

In "We Worship What We Don't Understand," a secret alliance of mutants—Shadowcat, Colossus, and Nightcrawler—converges in the desert under the watchful eye of Wolverine, drawn to the enigmatic Spector, who bears the mark of the Egyptian goddess Khonshu. As Spector warns them that even gods can be flawed and that time is running short, the group is suddenly torn apart when Spector transforms into a pack of werewolves and attacks them, leaving only a few to survive.
