Kenny returns from serving in the Army in Korea, and is reunited with his girlfriend Gail. Gail has been courted in his absence by Larry, but remained faithful. However, Kenny isn’t ready to get married or get a job, and Gail wonders if Larry is the better choice. When Larry proposes to Gail, he also asks if she’ll convince her uncle to give him a promotion at the factory. Gail rejects Larry as an opportunist and Kenny punches him. Kenny will take the factory job himself, and will marry Gail.
