Secret Six #27

Few images in 2011 comics feel quite this audacious: Bane, armored and fur-cloaked with a primitive spear in hand, rides a fully saddled Tyrannosaurus rex through a misty jungle on Daniel LuVisi's cover for Secret Six #27. Writer Gail Simone and artist J. Calafiore are deep into "The Reptile Brain," and that cover alone makes a compelling case for why this series earned its devoted following. If you've ever wanted to see one of DC's most formidable villains repurposed as a prehistoric warlord, this issue is hard to pass up.
