“Secret Origin of the Golden Age Batman”

Two origin stories for the price of one — that's the promise of Secret Origins #6, and the cover by José Luis García-López makes a strong case for both. On one side, the luminous Halo crouches in her colorful costume against a city skyline, while the brooding Golden Age Batman looms on the other, perched in shadow with Gotham stretching behind him. The teaser "How will the Dark Knight end?" adds an intriguing note to a 1986 issue that showcases DC's growing appetite for revisiting the stories behind its greatest characters.

Halo tells Looker her origin, that she is actually a being of light called an Aurakle, that took over the body of criminal Violet Harper after she was killed by Syonide. Looker then gives Halo a new costume created by Katana as a gift.
