“Sing Me a Love Song”

A charming February 1950 snapshot of postwar romance, Secret Hearts #3 delivers a full 52 pages of heartfelt storytelling — including "Sing Me a Love Song," "My Heart Was a Deceiver," "Tomorrow's Tears," and "Romance Rivals." The photo cover, credited to Theda Hall and Emerson Hall, captures a playful couple outdoors against a soft blue sky, the smiling young man covering his companion's eyes in a sweet, teasing surprise amid wildflowers. It's a warm and genuinely inviting entry in DC's early romance line, with interior art by Carmine Infantino adding real craft to the tender drama within.

Wilma and Blair are high school sweethearts; she repeatedly advises him about his future, urging him to study business rather than writing, which is his passion. When Blair graduates from college, she convinces him to take a job in a big company rather than revise the novel he’s written. To impress his new boss, Wilma suggests Blair manage the local library as a project. Librarian Frances encourages Blair’s writing, and warns Wilma that she’ll lose him if she ignores his interests. Wilma changes her ways and she and Blair will be happy.
