Secret Avengers #12
Kicking off "How to MA.I.M. a Mockingbird," this 2014 Marvel series entry puts the Secret Avengers squarely in the crosshairs — the cover shows a heavily armed trio pressing forward through a corridor swarming with glowing-eyed threats closing in from every direction. Jackson Guice's linework gives the scene a tense, tactical energy, with the central figure leveling a massive rifle while his two companions — one grizzled and braced for impact, the other poised and coolly dangerous — hold their ground. Writers Nick Spencer and Aleš Kot set the stage for what promises to be a high-stakes clash with M.A.I.M., and Matthew Wilson's moody, shadow-drenched colors make every glowing eye in that darkness feel like a genuine threat.
