Sea of Red #5

The fifth chapter of Image's pirate-vampire series Sea of Red arrives with a cover by Paul Harmon that pulls no punches: a bloodied, glowing-eyed figure leaps into combat with a raised blade, surrounded by a press of undead, snarling attackers armed with cutlasses and spears beneath a night sky. Above the fray, a haunting red-tinged horizon stretches across the top of the cover, hinting at something vast and ominous on the horizon. With Remender, Dwyer, and Harmon steering this dark nautical horror, issue five looks like exactly the kind of visceral, atmospheric read that made this 2005 series stand out.
