Remender, Dwyer, and Salgood Sam's Sea of Red continues with this atmospheric 2005 Image installment, and the cover — penciled and inked by Kieron Dwyer and Bill Reinhold — sets a genuinely unsettling tone. The upper half features a massive, bleached animal skull resting amid scattered bones and a blood-red sky, while below, a shadowy human figure is pursued through dim blue light by a snarling, red-eyed creature bristling with fangs and dark spines. It's a striking split composition that captures the series' blend of dread and predatory menace beautifully.
