Scooby-Doo #85

The whole Mystery Inc. gang finds themselves in a tight spot on this 2004 DC entry — Fred's enthusiastic pitch about avoiding tourist crowds has landed their little boat directly beneath a looming, red-eyed shadowy monster rising from the murky water. Joe Staton's cover art captures Velma, Daphne, Shaggy, and a very nervous Scooby-Doo reacting with perfect comic panic as the creature's massive silhouette dominates the twilight sky behind them. It's a wonderfully suspenseful setup that promises plenty of the humor and spooky fun that makes this series such a treat for readers of all ages.
