Scooby-Doo #63

Velma's in serious trouble on the cover of this October 2002 DC/Cartoon Network issue, as a menacing villain in a red biplane bears down on her with a gleeful "Ha-ha-ha! Your goose is cooked!" — while Shaggy shouts a frantic warning from below and Scooby cowers nearby. Cover pencils by Joe Staton and inks by Dave Hunt give the scene a wonderfully kinetic energy, with the sputtering propeller practically spinning off the page. Inside, the "Dragon's Eye" storyline continues alongside the delightfully titled "Barnstormin' Banshee," promising another fun mix of mystery and mayhem for fans of the whole Mystery Inc. gang.
