Scooby-Doo #52

The whole Mystery Inc. gang — Daphne, Velma, Fred, Scooby-Doo, and Shaggy — ventures into what appears to be a massive, grimacing monster-faced cave, flashlights barely cutting through the darkness as Velma cheerfully insists, "What's so scary, boys? It's just an old cave!" Cover pencils by Joe Staton and inks by Dave Hunt give that looming, toothy cavern a wonderfully unsettling presence that contrasts perfectly with the gang's mix of bravado and barely concealed nerves. A solid November 2001 entry in DC's Cartoon Network line, this issue promises the kind of spooky fun that's always made Scooby-Doo such a dependable good time.
