“Quit Buggin' Me”

The Mystery Inc. gang heads into the jungle in this 2006 DC entry, with Shaggy, Scooby-Doo, Fred, Daphne, and Velma scrambling in matching safari gear as a massive red-and-purple polka-dot lizard looms menacingly before them. Shaggy's cover quip — warning Scooby they'd better not run into "a guy in a polka-dot lizard suit" — is delightfully undercut by the enormous creature already filling the foreground, rendered with lively energy in Joe Staton's cover pencils and inks. It's a fun, lighthearted setup that promises exactly the kind of monster-meets-comedy chaos fans of the series have always enjoyed.
