Scooby Apocalypse #10 (April 2017) teases something wild with a title like "Velma, Warrior Queen of Monsterworld!" — and Howard Porter's cover delivers on that promise, depicting a sword-wielding, armor-clad Velma seated on a throne of chains while a very agitated Scooby-Doo, Fred, Daphne, and Shaggy find themselves surrounded by a horde of grotesque monsters. The gang looks cornered and desperate, which makes Velma's imperious perch above them all the more intriguing. Writers Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis continue to push this post-apocalyptic reimagining into genuinely surprising territory.
