This issue of School Friend is an anthology containing three stories: "Cherry's Alpine Schooldays," which follows a girl at Alpine School who receives a mysterious musical box and discovers it was sent by a music dealer named Fritz Hermann, leading her to investigate its secrets while preparing for a winter sports test; "Diana and the Dog from Nowhere" by Hazel Armitage, in which Diana Wincombe attempts to help a stray Labrador puppy find its owner, ultimately deciding to keep it and pursue becoming a reporter at her school; and "Susie's Wonder Cruise" by Jane Preston, featuring Susie Howard on a cruise ship where she becomes involved in solving the mystery of a man in a wheelchair and a missing cat, eventually discovering a stowaway.
