"School Friend" #243 is an anthology issue featuring three stories: "Cherry's Alpine Schooldays," in which Cherry receives a mysterious musical-box at Alpine School and discovers it came from Fritz Herrmann, a music dealer in the village, leading her to suspect a boy from a neighboring school may have damaged it; "Susie's Wonder Cruise," by Jane Preston, following young passenger Susie Howard on a cruise ship voyage to Australia where she encounters her newfound uncle and experiences adventures along the coast; and "Diana and the Dog from Nowhere," by Hazel Armitage, in which Diana investigates the kidnapping of a valuable Alsatian dog named Chota and searches for clues at Highview Kennels with the help of a mysterious dog named Jupiter.
