School Friend #216 is an anthology featuring three main stories. "The Silent Three in the Highlands" by Helen Crawford depicts Betty Roland, Joan Derwent, and Peggy West investigating a secret hidden in a cave near Castle School, following clues that lead them toward discovering Fiona Macleod's hidden secret and encountering mysterious figures. Additionally, "Susie's Wonder Cruise" by Jane Preston shows Susie Howard on her first day aboard the luxury liner S.S. Sunshine, where she encounters pranks and friction with other young passengers before discovering camaraderie among the ship's company.
