History

This volume (Vol. 4) launched on June 12, 2024, as a direct continuation of Steve Orlando's run that began with Scarlet Witch (2023) and threaded through the Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver limited series; Marvel announced it in February 2024 as a relaunch rather than a new creative direction, preserving editorial continuity under editor Alanna Smith. Jacopo Camagni — recruited from X-Men Red, where he had demonstrated fluency with both superheroics and intimate character work — replaced Sara Pichelli and Logan Connolly as the interior artist, while Russell Dauterman continued as cover artist, providing visual brand consistency across the entire Orlando run. The series ran ten issues, concluding in March 2025, and was followed by The Vision & the Scarlet Witch (2025), also by Orlando.

The Queen of Nevers returns here after her last appearance in Defenders (2021); Lore, the necromantic alternate-reality Wanda last seen in Scarlet Witch (1994), is set up as a coming antagonist (she appears in issue #3). Key Collector Comics lists the issue as a non-key, confirming no first appearances of entirely new characters in this issue.
