Scarlet Spider #16
Scarlet Spider's tagline — "All of the Power, None of the Responsibility" — feels especially apt here, as Ryan Stegman's cover presents Kaine's red-and-black suited figure crashing violently through a massive web, his body twisting under the impact in a way that suggests things have gone very, very wrong. The shredded, barbed-wire-like webbing radiating outward in all directions gives the image a raw, kinetic energy that sets an appropriately grim tone for "A Good, Ol' Fashioned Rodeo." With Christopher Yost writing and Khoi Pham on interior art, this 2013 series continues to carve out its own rough-edged corner of the Marvel Universe.
