☆ Be the first to reviewThis French collected edition presents a selection of stories from the early issues of Neil Gaiman's groundbreaking series *Sandman*, originally published by DC Comics in the late 1980s. It features the debut of Dream, also known as Morpheus, and his journey through the realms of the Endless, blending myth, horror, and fantasy in a way that redefined the comic book medium. Published by Les Humanoïdes Associés, this volume offers a key entry point into the acclaimed series for French-speaking readers.
In "L'aventure de la forêt magique," Jack Kirby’s vivid storytelling and art bring to life a dreamlike mystery where the Sandman, a figure of sleep and silence, becomes an unlikely hero. When Silas Pettigrew is wrongly accused of murder, the Sandman’s presence in the city stirs strange forces—and with a twist of fate and the reluctant help of Pettigrew, justice begins to take shape. Kirby’s dynamic pencils, inked by Joe Simon, lend a surreal edge to this 1984 French edition, making it a standout in the series’ early run.
