In the remote North Woods, a secret group of industrialists plots to capture Samson, the world’s strongest man, after learning he’s the only threat to their plan to control all electric power through a massive, fortified tower. Captain Burke answers a desperate plea from escaped survivor Mitchell, who reveals the existence of the Isla of Missing Men—a brutal island prison run by the tyrannical King Robinson, who enslaves shipwrecked sailors for pearl diving. With the F.B.I. unable to act abroad, Burke flies solo to the remote island, where he must outwit Robinson’s ruthless crew and survive a deadly game of cat and mouse before the island’s horrors claim him.

Wonder Boy investigates a series of attacks on toy store owners, beginning with Sally Benson, who is shot and claims two strangers smashed her dolls before fleeing. When another store owner is assaulted, Wonder Boy tracks the criminals to a doll factory, where he uncovers a smuggling operation hidden within the toys—only to find Sally has arrived at the same scene, unaware she’s walking into a trap.

Samson stumbles into a circus where he’s drawn into a challenge by the boastful ringmaster Bozo, only to discover the star attraction is Lilla Walker, the circus owner’s daughter. As he tries to help her, Samson uncovers a conspiracy involving sabotage and betrayal, leading to a dangerous trap set by the rival performer Strut Mazola and his henchman Pete.
