This thirteenth volume of the long-running Belgian-Dutch edition of Samurai opens with a striking cover by Di Giorgio and Mormile: a bare-chested warrior in a vivid red-and-blue kimono sits in a composed, kneeling stance, both hands resting on the blade of a katana planted before him — blood visible on the steel and the stone beneath. The title "Rood Pigment en Witte Alcohol" (Red Pigment and White Alcohol) hints at a chapter steeped in violence and consequence, and Mormile's sharp linework and Lorenzo Pieri's bold colors make this 2020 release a visually compelling entry in the series.
