Salvation Run #1
DC's seven-issue 2008 miniseries kicks off with a premise spelled right out on the cover: someone killed the Flash, and now a roster of DC villains is paying the price. The cover by Sean Chen and Walden Wong crowds the frame with recognizable rogues — Captain Cold leveling his cold gun front and center, the Riddler leaping overhead with green energy swirling, Vandal Savage in his cape, the Tattooed Man, and a horde of armed figures pressing in from the background — capturing the chaotic, cornered energy of criminals thrust into a genuinely dangerous situation. Writer Bill Willingham's "Hellish New World" promises a story where the bad guys, for once, aren't the most threatening thing in the room.
