Saga #58

Saga's Chapter Fifty Eight arrives with one of the series' more delightfully surreal covers — a spotlight illuminates a band whose members include a figure with a vintage television for a head (in overalls and ballet slippers, microphone in hand), a frog-like creature on drums, a dark-cloaked guitarist, and a white-haired musician at what appears to be a glowing xylophone or marimba. Fiona Staples' artwork gives the whole scene a moody purple warmth that somehow makes an alien rock concert feel completely natural. Brian K. Vaughan and Staples continue to prove that their sci-fi saga can conjure images unlike anything else on the shelf in 2022.
