Saga's fifty-first chapter arrives with a refreshingly offbeat cover by Fiona Staples, depicting two distinctly non-human figures in a surprisingly warm, everyday moment — a blue-skinned, pointy-eared figure in casual clothes holds up a small doll while a green-skinned companion crouches in front, aiming a camera fitted with a literal eyeball lens at the viewer. The whole scene has a playful, almost photo-shoot quality that feels miles away from the galactic warfare the series is known for, which makes it all the more intriguing. Brian K.
