Saga Chapter Thirty Nine arrives with one of the series' most quietly arresting covers, painted by Fiona Staples: a horned, pointed-eared woman in dark robes holds a luminous, ghostly rose blooming with light against her chest, her expression guarded and intense. Her bandaged arm grips a staff, and the cool purple atmosphere gives the whole image a haunting, almost elegiac mood. Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples continue to make this Image series feel genuinely unlike anything else on the shelves in 2016.
