Saga #21
Saga's twenty-first chapter arrives with one of the more quietly unsettling covers of 2014: a figure whose head is a vintage television set — its screen glowing with a faint image — dressed in a plain jumpsuit and methodically mopping up a bold red smear across the floor, a bucket nearby. Fiona Staples' restrained, near-monochromatic design makes that slash of red all the more striking, suggesting something between crime scene and corporate drudgery. It's the kind of image that makes you pause before even opening the cover — exactly what you'd hope for from the Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples team.
