Sad Sad Sack #23

This Giant-Size Harvey offering from 1969 brings the whole Sad Sack gang together on a wonderfully chaotic yellow cover — Sad Sack, Sarge, The General, Muttsy, and Little Sack are all called out in portrait panels along the left side, while the main scene erupts with soldiers getting soaked, scattered, and generally bewildered around a "Just Married" car driving off in a cloud of confetti and water. George Canale's loose, expressive linework captures the slapstick energy that made this series such a treat, and at 25 cents you got a whole lot of military comedy mayhem for your money.
