Sad Sad Sack #14

This giant-size Harvey Comics issue drops Sad Sack and the whole gang — Sarge, The General, Muttsy, and Sadie Sack — into a chaotic City Zoo outing, with sound effects like "WHACK" and "BOING" flying as a tiger rattles its cage and soldiers scatter in every direction. The cover portrait panels along the left side give a friendly introduction to each character before the mayhem unfolds in the main scene. For a quarter in 1967, this oversized issue promised plenty of the gentle, goofy military humor that made the Sad Sack series such a reliable laugh.
