This Giant Summer Issue from Harvey Comics packs in the whole gang — Sad Sack, Sarge, Ol' Sod Sack, Cookie, and Waldo — for a bumper collection of military laughs. George Baker's cover says it all: a bewildered Sad Sack stands calmly between two furious, red-uniformed soldiers who have apparently just been launched off opposite ends of a very sorry-looking vehicle, while a little dog sits nearby minding his own business. For a quarter in 1959, this was a genuinely generous helping of comic misadventure.
