Harvey's long-running everyman comedy series delivers another dose of beautifully timed misfortune in this 1959 entry, with George Baker's cover art showing poor Sad Sack simultaneously blasted by a fire hydrant's geyser and standing over a manhole next to a "Danger – Open Sewer" sign, his faithful dog Mutsy watching the chaos unfold nearby. The bright yellow background and Baker's wonderfully expressive cartooning capture everything that made this series a perennial favorite — a hapless hero caught at the absolute worst intersection of bad luck. "Loved by Millions" says so right on the cover, and it's easy to see why.
