Sad Sack Comics #89

Harvey's long-running army comedy series returns with issue #89, cover-dated January 1959 and billed right on the cover as "Loved by Millions." George Baker's cover art captures the familiar Sad Sack in a typically hapless moment — yanked down by a leashed army dog gone haywire while a stern, barrel-chested sergeant looks on with displeasure and another soldier struggles to regain control of the chaos. It's the kind of good-natured, slapstick military humor that made this series a staple of mid-century comics, all for just ten cents.
