Poor Sad Sack just can't catch a break — the cover by George Baker shows our hapless hero getting walloped with a resounding "WHAM" right at a traffic control post, while a burly MP and an unimpressed officer look on. Baker's rubber-limbed cartooning captures that perfect mix of slapstick misery and military absurdity that made this series a genuine ten-cent treat in 1956. If you've got a soft spot for army comedy done with a light touch, this one's a charmer.
