Sad Sack Comics #258
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeGeorge Baker's lovably put-upon private is back in Sad Sack #258 from Harvey Comics, and the cover by Fred Rhoads sets up a perfectly chaotic army mess scene. A cook in a white apron leans over two labeled cans — one marked "STEW," the other "GARBAGE" — serving up something to a bewildered group of soldiers in green caps, while a sergeant looks on with wide-eyed alarm at whatever is splashing onto the tray. It's the kind of gentle, good-natured military humor that made this series a staple of 1977 comics racks, and at 30 cents it was pure fun for anyone who's ever suspected army chow wasn't quite what it seemed.
